Abstract: | In this contribution we present a cognitively motivated approach to an interactive assistance system for spatio-temporal planning tasks. Since mental spatial problem solving is known to be based on hierarchical representations, we argue for region-based representation structures that allow for structuring a complex spatio-temporal problem such that exploring and communicating alternative solutions to a given problem are easily enabled. In this way, spatio-temporal constraints can interactively be dealt with to find appropriate solutions for a given planning problem. |
